about

"The music on this EP falls under the umbrella of rock. That being said there is some diversity in the batch of songs. The EP opens with “The Beginning” which is a steady grower in terms of intensity. It starts with guitar and vocals and slowly starts to build with piano. The groove around the one-minute mark in is on point. What I loved even more was the unexpected ’70s sax solo. This is a great intro to the EP which peaked my interest.

“Lies” is a highlight and the longest song on the EP. It starts off as a gorgeous ballad with warm acoustic guitar and reflective lyrics. The song picks up with energy and the chorus is memorable. Diskin sings, “And she, she’s the one to ruin me.”

“Nostalgia For The Infinite” is a great song title and also another success for Diskin. I was reminded of The Beatles. It’s warm, really catchy and heartfelt. In fact this is the single off the EP in my opinion. I was humming along the first time I heard it. “In It For The Long Run” builds on the emotional, heartfelt nature of the song without sounding over sentimental. The bass was especially well done on the song. There is also some great dynamics at work. The song breaks down, goes to a crescendo and then goes somewhere in between. Eventually the song gets into epic territory.

The EP ends with a stripped back folk song. It’s about a minute-and-a-half long and felt like an appropriate closer."
